J. Paul Getty Wildlife Conservation Prize
The J. Paul Getty Wildlife Conservation Prize was established in 1974 by the late J. Paul Getty to honor outstanding contributions in international conservation. The tradition of recognizing conservation excellence and innovation is continued by his son, Gordon P. Getty and his family.
Through the Getty family's generosity, the prize carries with it not only international recognition, but also an award of $100,000. The award serves to heighten public awareness of the need for conservation of the earth's incredible diversity and sustainable resources. The Getty Award is handled by the World Wildlife Fund - US.
